The science of the art of capoeira

Banzay - Miudinho on the beach

Imaculate acrobatics in a tiny space

I met Banzay at Capoeirando 2004 in Ilheus. Another Cordao de Ouro student from Ceara, he is an adept of the intricate acrobatics of Mestre Suassunnas Miudinho game. Notice that momentum is garnered through circular movements (as opposed to linear like in gymnastics) allowing these aerial and ground acrobatics to fit within the physical constraints of a capoeira roda. This is a really popular clip in Brazil. Banzay has a lot of orignialty and the coolest and lowest mortal american I've ever seen
